Instructions

To determine which city district you are in, follow these steps:

Choose the CityGIS map from the previous page. Click the Board of Directors tab above the map. You can zoom in a few times using the Zoom tool to the left of the map () to see detail. If you click Map Legend in the lower left, a color coordinated list of the city districts will appear beneath it. Next, click Find Address, type your street address into the space that appears, and click Go. The map will zoom to your address and display the District number. You can click the Get More Information tool, () and then click on the map in an area that is not a street. Below the map you will see the district number and a link to View Officials. If you click on a street with this tool, below the map you will see the street name and the address range.

Using the same methods described above, you can also determine your school district, what type of zone you live in, your recycling schedule and many other interesting facts. Experiment with the tool box, as you will find many useful features.

Ownership information and buffering:

Ownership information from the Garland County Assessor's Office is updated on this site periodically. To view ownership choose the Planning map from the previous page. Select the Parcels tab and zoom in until you find the parcel you want or click the Search tab and click Find Address to zoom to an address. Select the Identify Features tool (). Below the map select Parcels as the active Map Layer and click the parcel on the map. Ownership is displayed in the panel on the right. (For up-to-date information, click next to Garland County Assessor which takes you to that parcel)

In the Selection Options of that same right side panel showing Owner Information you can enter Buffer Distance and click Create Buffer to buffer from the perimeter of the parcel. To buffer from the point you click instead, use the Buffer tool () and below the map select Parcels Layer, enter a Radius and click a point on the map. The results listed below the map are all the parcels within the distance entered. They can be printed by choosing Search Results in the dialog box for the Print tool (). To download the results to a zip file in csv format, click the export icon () in the lower left beside the results. You may have to adjust your computer's security settings to receive it.

Ownership Plat Maps:

Ownership maps from the Garland County Assessor's Office are dated 2006. On the Planning map click the Ownership tab. Zoom in or perform an address search until you find the parcel you want and select the Identify Features tool. Below the map select Ownership Plat as the active Map Layer and click the on the Plat that you what to view. Click on the map number link on the right side panel. You may have to adjust your computer's security settings to view it.
